Welcome Back 2016-2017 School Year

September 6, 2016
Dear Students and Families,
My name is Tysheka Pruett. I will be your child’s first grade teacher for the 2016-2017 school year!   I would like to welcome you and your child to my class! First grade is going to be a fantastic year for your child and I hope we can work together as a team, to ensure that he/she develops in academic learning and success. In order for us to begin our year of learning it is important that the students are well prepared. We will be learning many wonderful things this year, such as reading, writing, communities, plants and animals, geometry and pattern work. Your child will be given books, and fluency folders to take home. Please make sure your child reads each night and brings his/her homework done and signed by an adult each day. I will be posting daily updates on my website that will allow you to see what we are working on weekly.
Below is a list of supplies that your child will need in first grade. I am hoping that all of the supplies can be in school by Friday, September 9th . The items listed below are necessary for completing school work.
Welcome to First Grade!

We believe that the ultimate goal for each child is to become an independent life-long learner. Following this belief, homework is to be done by your child. I ask that you act as a guide. Homework is an assessment tool
which enables us to formulate lessons that meet the needs of your children. I  expect all homework to be completed when assigned.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Ms. T. Pruett
