    Welcome
Mrs. Freschi and I are very excited to be your child’s teachers. Together we’ll provide a positive and nurturing environment where your child will learn and grow as he or she explores and discovers the world. Together we will ensure that your child learns and develops at his or her own pace. Let us work together to provide the best learning experience possible for your Child!

    The Curriculum
During the first couple of weeks we will focus on learning all about our classroom environment.  Then Family will be our theme.
You are very welcome to come to the classroom to share your family history and experiences with us! Your participation will make learning more meaningful!

    Homework

Home work will be given daily. Our homework is designed to be fun learning experience for both you and your child.  I envision homework to be a bonding experience.  Homework should not take more than fifteen minutes.

Please help your child to put together a poster or collage of family pictures for your child to share with the class.   Please check your schedule to determine a date that will be convenient for you come in to support your child.
This activity is invaluable. It will help to improve our children’s self esteem and confidence.   Your child will feel proud to stand in front of the class to tell about his/her pictures, posters and collages.  It will be an amazing experience having our children asking questions about the pictures and sharing their own thoughts and memories and insight.

    A Few Reminders
    • Friday is gym day. Please make sure your child wears sneakers every Friday.
    • Please be sure send an extra pair of clothes with your child’s name on it.
    • It is good practice to write your child’s name on hats, scarves, cardigans and gloves/mittens.
    • Return Emergency Form, Permission to take Photograph form and Lunch Form promptly.
    • No school on September 13, 2016.

    • Back to school date is September28, 2016
      5.30 to 7:00PM
    First Week of School
Maintain a clear good-bye routine. This may include warning the child you are leaving in 3 minutes.

Once you tell your child you are leaving, it is important to follow through. Extending the good-bye with, "Ok just one more kiss, and then I really have to go” tends to heighten anxiety rather than relieve it.

Avoid sneaking out, as this seems to encourage children to become less trusting and makes the second day of school even harder.

Clearly state to your child where you will be and when you will return. It may also be helpful to discuss what will happen when you are reunited.

    Curriculum
November is such a fun time in preschool. In two weeks our grocery theme will end and we will begin our celebrations theme.  The emphasis is on celebrating ourselves our families and our community.
An important goal is to help your child to understand what it means to be thankful and develop an attitude of gratitude.
In that light, we will have a Gratitude Celebration on November 23.  You are encouraged to wear your national costume or the colors of your country of origin.  For example the colors of the American flag may be worn or the colors or costume of your native country.  If you like, you may bring a favorite dish to share with us.
We continue to learn about fall and the changes that the season brings.
