Thelma A. Ramsey received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Deaf rehabilitation and Early Childhood Education for the Handicapped for the from Talladega College. She then attended the University Of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign on the Patricia Roberts Harris fellowship and received her Master of Arts in Speech Language Pathology. She later continued her studies at New Jersey City University, where she received her supervisory certification. She received her administrative certification through coursework at Walden University. A product of the East Orange School district, from Pre-k through 12th grade. Ms. Ramsey currently Principal at Langston Hughes School of Publishing and Fine Arts, her former elementary school. A strong advocate for public school education and community involvement, she has implemented a school garden to cafeteria initiative, Uzimba Tuesdays (Zumba fitness and wellness), Hughes Ambassadors with her special education students and school-wide Mindfulness Mondays and Focused Fridays.
