No Child Left Behind
NCLB requires every state to establish academic standards for what students should know and be able to do. Each district and school is measured by how well students are progressing toward meetings these standards. All students are required to make progress measured by a state-developed test that is administered annually at specific grade levels.
Annually the state will publish an easy to read and detailed “report card” identifying the progress of each school. Included in the report card is student achievement data seprated into groups by: Race, Gender, Ethnicity, English Language Proficiency, Disability Status, Migrant Status, Low Income status for all students.
