Future Ready Prep participated in Digital Learning Day on February 28. Students took this day to highlight the many ways that they use technology as part of their daily learning experiences. Some ways our students use technology are to analyze data, create blogs, collaborate with peers, and personalize their own learning. Also on February 28, Future Ready Prep received national recognition for our participation in the Future Ready Schools Film Festival. Our submission, “Water: A Drop of Life”, was recognized as a notable school feature.

  • Future Ready Prep Connecting with the World!

Posted by Patrick Trentacost on 2/20/2019

Technology makes the world smaller. On February 20, 2019, Future Ready Prep took a virtual field trip to Ghana. Not only did we interact with students in Ghana, we also worked with students from Holmdel, NJ, who made the virtual visit with us. Students shared and learned information from the students in Ghana and from the students at the other participating school. Music, favorite foods, hobbies, dances, and school life were all topics of discussion. Students learned that they have more similarities than differences. Additionally, the stereotype that Africa is a country and not a continent made up of many countries was dispelled. Students also saw through participation in this virtual field trip that there are places in Africa that are just as metropolitan as cities in the United States and it is not just comprised of rural villages.

  • Celebrating the Life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by Giving Back

Posted by Patrick Trentacost on 1/11/2019

Our students are learning to be servant leaders. On January 11, 2019, Future Ready Prep students participated in a Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. On that day students developed service projects. The day of service did not end in January, but will continue until the end of the school year. This helps our students further appreciate and understand the impact of student driven service projects that our school community participated in earlier in the school year.
