Dr. David Mwangi
Dr. Mwangi has served as a High School Science teacher, Data Coordinator, STEM Trainer and now Science Department Chair. At the district level, he has assisted in the use of Data in Decision-making, adoption and implementation of Google Apps For Education, research-based Math Instructional strategies and 3D Science instruction. He has taught a litany of College courses ranging from Molecular Biology to Virology and Microbiology. His professional awards include Teacher of the year (EOCHS) in 2015, Outstanding Contribution to Education (NJLC, 2009) and Kean University’s President’s award in 2018. He is also an ETS AP reader and a certified Google Trainer. In addition to Education, Dr Mwangi has over 8 years experience in Immunology Research. His passion is to empower students with 21st Century skills such as Critical thinking, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity.

To succeed in college and career, students need to develop 21st century skills such as Collaboration, Creativity, Critical thinking and Communication (4Cs). Dr Mwangi believes educators should model these skills to students and ensure that the 4Cs are the fabric around which we build lessons.
